Wordpress is one the most widely used Blogging Platform which is an open source software written in PHP and Mysql. I would say that this is the best best blogging tool and its very user friendly. To enhance the features of this platform, you can use different plugins which are free to use and is available at the Wordpress Plugins Directory. Some plugins are commercial which most of them are free to use. In this post, I have done some research and listed down the plugins which should be useful for you.

cformsII - contact form- cforms is a highly customizable, flexible and powerful form builder plugin, covering a variety of use cases and features from attachments to multi form management, you can even have multiple forms on the same page!

Google XML Sitemaps - This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It supports all of the WordPress generated pages as well as custom ones. Everytime you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.

NextGEN Gallery – The best plugin for WordPress is a new Gallery plugin called NextGEN Gallery . It’s named als “NextGeneration” according to the the development of the game consoles . More over it should indicate that I (try) to use all new possibilities of the great JQuery and the so called Web 2.0. Before I start writing the plugin I study all image and gallery plugins for WordPress.

All in One SEO Pack – This is great plugin to optimize your blog for the Search Engines. I will say that this is a must have plugin for wordpress

WP Super Cache – This plugin is useful if you have heavy traffic and limited resources. I have tried this, but I find some pages and comments show up after some time, means there is a delay, otherwise this is an excellent plugin to speed up your blog performance.

Subscribe to Comments -  This plugins enables your readers to subscribe to the comments unlike the post subscriptions

Register Plus – Customize your blog registration with additional fields, captcha and many more options. You should really use this plugin if you are encouraging your visitors to register.

ShareThis – This plugin enables the site visitors to share the post at different social networking sites.

WordPress Related Posts – This is a must have plugin which increases the blogs depth of page visits. This plugin shows links to the posts related to the article that the visitor is reading

WP-Gravatar – With this plugin, you use Gravatar, MyBlogLog, OpenAvatar, Wavatar, Identicon, monsterID or Favico.ico files with your comments.
